Lewis Love

 Hello dear Friends and family!

Sorry for the long silence.  A couple of days ago I discovered that I had mastitis :(  For a little while I was unable to go see Lewis, which made it even harder, but my dear mother-in-law came and stayed with me and took care of me and visited with our little man!  I am so greatful that she was able to be here, she knew just what to do to get me better! And I know Little Bit enjoyed his time with his Eia :)  He is doing so well, and just getting so fat and cudly :)
He now weighs 4 lbs 15 oz, but some of it is water that has built up on his left side.  They started giving him some medicine for that today so it may actually seem that he looses weight in the next couple of days :(  He still needs lots of prayers for his apnea spells, which he's still having quite frequently.  He actually had one while mama and I were there today, during one of his feedings.
But he really is progressing beautifully, just as a preemie is expected, and I am so greatful for all the words of encouragement and prayers over the past 5 weeks!

Now on to the pictures of his royal cuteness :)

I'm not sure who's enjoying him being in an open crib more, me or him?!

I just love all the monogramed items from dear, dear Mrs. B!! Thank you SO much!

 Him loves his Eia!!!

Mr. Sleepyhead, trying to decide if he wants to visit last night!

The Danny Lane family!! Aren't we cute?! ;)

 My Precious one

My sweet guys, I love them both so much!  Danny is such a wonderful father, I'm so blessed to get to raise a family with him!!!!

 Hello dear friends and family!

We had a great talk with Lewis' Doctor today about when Little Bit might possibly be coming home!!! Now there's no way of really knowing, but all the Doctor is concerned about right now is his ability to eat on his own! He said that the breathing issues will resolve simply as he gets older and that he'll be able to keep his temperature when he gets more fat on him!  What keeps a lot of preemie babies in the NICU is their inability to learn the 'suck, swallow, breath' correctly, there fore not being able to eat on their own.  And they don't really learn that till 35 weeks gestation.  Lewis is 33 weeks gestation and a month old!  He is on two bottles a day now and is gradually going down on the heat in his bed!  He needs to be on 8 bottles a day before he can go home.  Prayers that he will learn this quickly and well would be greatly appreciated!!

His first day in clothes :)
This is yesterday!  I'm so excited about how fast he's growing! He's finally hit 4 lbs!!

Ham shots :)

I love being a mother! I love holding this little boy and knowing he's mine :)  I love picking out his clean blankets, and putting little socks and hats on him, then when I look at him it feels more like I'm helping take care of him, and it's not just the hospital.  I love how he turns his little head in my direction whenever I come in and he hears my voice :)  And most of all I love cuddling with him, and feeling him breath! Lewis is the sweetest little baby ever, and I'm so amazed that the Lord would give him to Danny and I to take care of!
I also love taking hundreds of pictures, it never gets old :)Today I just couldn't decide which pictures to put up, they are all SO CUTE, so I've decided to post them all :)  So be prepared for TONS of photos of our precious Lewis!

Stay tuned for an update later today!
